The food you consume should feed your mind, body and spirit! Food has the power to heal, nourish, cleanse and fuel your body!
Have you ever heard the saying, "You're what you eat"? Well there is actually 100 percent truth to this quote. Our bodies are amazing machines and have the capability to perform at its peak when given the proper foods! Our bodies have trillions of cells, and these cells make up our skin, hair, kidney's, liver etc. These cells eventually die, and become replaced with the foods you eat. This is why it is important to eat foods that give you life, which in return gives you a youthful appearance, energy, balanced chakras, and overall good health.
Plant Power
Plants are alkaline living organisms that contain a powerful life force energy that is transferred when eaten. The more plants that you consume can actually help the body to become more alkalized. Disease have a very hard time thriving in an alkaline environment, so why not eat more fruits and vegetables to improve your health.
Raw Juice Detoxing
Juicing is a lifestyle, not a quick-fix for weight-loss!
Juicing is a great way to get healthy, lose weight and detox toxins from your body. To enjoy the great benefits of juicing, you must include it in your lifestyle. Even when you're not doing a Raw Juice Detox, you should be consuming a raw green juice drink daily.
If you're new to the juicing world and have never completed a raw juice detox before, this section is definitely for you! I'm not going to sugar coat the detoxification process with you. A Raw Juice Detox contains a set number of raw cold-pressed juices that you consume in a 24-hour period or longer. During this detox the goal is to NOT consume any solid foods, this allows the opportunity for your digestive system to rest. A large portion of our energy is spent on digesting our food, so when the body gets a break it can now utilize that energy to heal & repair damaged cells, and scavenge for free radical cells that are responsible for cancer and destroy them.
During the raw juice detox it is perfectly okay to consume other liquids such as herbal teas, spring water, and homemade nut-milks or vegan broth. During the detox you should NOT consume carbonated soda-drinks, coffee, or processed juices. It is possible to experience side effects from a raw juice detox, which I will go into more depth. To ease some of the side effects from a detox such as a headache, it's very important to listen your body. Be sure to consume plenty of water to stay hydrated! I suggest keeping fresh fruit such as grapes, blueberries, strawberries, etc just in case you feel you may have to break your fast. I recommend these fruits because they are primarily made-up of water, which won't cause to much damage to your fast. If the fruits aren't enough then I recommend eating a raw colorful salad. Even if you fall under pressure and break your fast with solid foods, just meditate/pray to mentally prepare you for the next day and start with a clean slate. Remember this is YOUR journey and not a race, so go at a pace that is comfortable for you!!
The Benefits of a Raw Juice Detox
After successfully completing a raw juice detox, you should bask and gloat in your accomplishment. Why? Juice fasting can definitely be a challenge, no matter if its a 1-day or 10-day juice fast, so give yourself a pat on the back! Most people want to know are there side effects to a juice fast, well the answer is yes. Not everyone will experience them, but the side effects are usually an indication of the detox working. Side effects can include headaches, migraines, and lethargy. This is actually a great time for you to slow down your daily activities, rest and focus on yourself. Remember if you do have any medical conditions, please consult with your healthcare practitioner before a detox. Now, lets go over the benefits you get to enjoy from completing your fast. You'll feel lighter mentally and physically. Increase in energy, purge toxins, weight-loss, boost in immune function, clear skin, conscious decision-making and overall sense of well-being!
